Whole milk question

Just curious...

If you are giving your LO whole milk, how many oz in each serving and how many servings in a day?

I think we may be finally having some success with the sippy but she will only take 3.5 to 4 oz at a time. So I'm hoping to give her about five 4 oz sippys a day.

Is whole milk more filling than formula or something?

TIA

We had DD's appt today and she said to give her 15-25 oz per day.   She said if we wanted to do AM and PM and meal times and then give water sippys in between then it would be easier going out during the day too and not having to worry about keeping it cold.  I know it will be easier going out and about b/c pretty much everywhere has milk.  I just gave DD her first sippy of it and she took a drink and handed it back.  hahaha.  Guess this will take some getting used to.  We are trying 1/2 and 1/2 for the evening bottle.

  • Is it bad that I'm not really monitoring that? I give her some in a sippy for supper, she gets some at daycare and I know they monitor it because they have to (they even write down how many ounces of water she gets). Usually I see them write10-12 ounces in her book and then we give probably probably 4-ish for supper. I just give her like half a sippy cup full at a time (and also offer her full sippy cup of water in case she wants water instead) and she drinks what she wants. I don't track if she does or doesn't drink it though.

I'm just worried about it because she isn't the biggest fan of food. She use to be a huge yogurt eater and now it's like she is tired of it. I hope she starts to eat more soon.

Tonight I poured what was left from the sippy...pretty much the whole thing into a bottle so I knew.  She just barely hit 16 lbs today so for now we are supposed to make sure she is getting at least 15 oz of milk or milk/formula mixed.  That is the only reason I will watch it for the next week or so.  Daycare I am not worried about they write down water too.
