Were the old wives tales true for you?

We have our anatomy scan in four days and I can hardly contain myself! In an effort to kill time on a Friday, how accurate were old wives tales in helping you predict your baby's sex? Right on or totally off?

Mine all point to boy, but my gut feeling has been girl, which I hear is around 70% accurate. This is just for fun -- I know it doesn't mean anything, so be nice. Stick out tongue

All the signs pointed to a girl. I had a gut feeling it is a boy and sure is a boy!

Mine were pretty mixed and was praying hard for a little girl as a first time mom. I got the little girl I wanted.

Nub theory and skull theory... as well as Chinese Gender Chart were all correct though.

All wives tales pointed to boy and gut feeling said boy since I had the same symptoms as with DS and not the symptoms I had with DD but its a little girl!! She must be going to be a tomboy! Lol!! I guess I'm proof of the saying that every pregnancy is different!

Chinese gender and ring test said boy also.

As far as how sick I was. The wives tale was right bc we are having two girls. Not sure about other wives tales about girls.

The OWT's were spot-on with DS, and I have had a very similiar pregnancy this time around and we're having a boy again!

FWIW, the Chinese Gender Chart was right for DS and wrong for this LO.

Chinese gender was wrong. I never understood the nub theory. But the OWT about girls steal beauty & my leg hair growing super slow was correct the baby is a girl.

I had acne with all 3 boys but this time it is all over my neck. It's way worse.

And my leg hair always grew normal or faster with the boys. Now I could shave every 3 days and it would look like I shaved everyday.

I thought a boy at first just cause I had 3 of them. Then the more I talked about being scared to pick out a girl name and raising a teenage girl I realized I knew she was a girl. And I was right!

The only one I really thought of was the heartrate one, where a colleague of mine suspected a girl by that, and it came out true. Other than that, I did the Chinese Calender for gender and it also pointed out girl.

The heartrate one was wrong for my pregnancy with DS and this one. I shouldve had all girls but I will have three boys by Sept.

The Chinese gender chart was wrong for DS and this pregnancy.

My intuition was correct with my first two and 1/2 right for this one.

They are, IMO, things that are fun to pass the time but until I am told one way or the other and confirmed a few more times (I have lots of u/s during my pregnancies) I dont hold any stock into them.

Chinese chart, morning sickness theory were both very wrong.

Ring on a string theory always gave mixed answers, so I can't give you a definitive there.

At the beginning I had thought it was one gender, and then one morning I woke up and said "nope, its the other one" and I was right! (My SO has been right the whole time)

I just knew it was a girl... Gut feeling. I had a 100 different pregnancy this time than with DS. Chinese gender prediction said girl. The side of the uterus that the placenta was on between week 6 to 8 said girl, nub theory was girl. And sure enough I'm having a girl!!

With DS I had a feeling it was a boy... I kinda hoped for a girl but just felt it was a boy. Chinese gender said boy but all other wives tales like the ring and others said girl. I didnt know about the nub or placenta thing back them.

OWT that I looked at were 80% Girl, Chinese Gender Chart said Girl, I thought I was having a girl, we're having a girl! So I guess they were mostly right for me

The only OWT I was aware of was the Chinese Gender chart which said boy for me and it is a boy. I had a gut feeling it was a boy. Most of DH's family thought girl but I think they only thought that because his sister already has two boys so law of averages....

Most of the Wives Tales and Gender calendar(all except morning sickness) pointed to a girl. I thought from the beginning it was going to be a girl, then about 5 weeks before my a/s I switched to definitely boy. We are having a little boy!

I am having a girl.

Only one of the old wive's tales were correct for me - the heart rate (Always 155 or higher).

Other than that...

The Chinese Gender Prediction chart was wrong.

The m/s tale was wrong - I barely was sick - maybe a little queasy.

I didn't have any changes in my skin - no breakouts/zits/pimples

I didn't crave sweets - I actually craved salty/sour

All OWT pointed to girl.....and they still do! I am still battling with morning sickness

We also thought based on family history and the amount of girls born into hubby's family, that we would have a girl. But NOPE! We are blessed with a baby boy and thrilled about this first addition to our family.

Mixed results on mine but Chinese Gender Chart said Boy and I always thought Boy until the morning of our scan. But its a boy!

The skull theory, left vs. right theory, AND the Chinese gender chart all pointed to girl for me, and sure enough its a girl! Baby's heat rate was always high too, and my hair is super dry. Obviously just coincidence but still...

I craved sweets = girl

Chinese gender= girl

baby was anterior, basically in the middle of my uterus but " maybe a little to the right" at 7 weeks= boy

instict= boy

Heartrate has always been above 160= girl

And its a boy! Chinese gender was also wrong with DS. Im just going to assume from now on im having the opposite of whatever it says ..

FTM and I'm at 20w5d. Chinese gender predictor said boy but all the other old wives tales were 50/50. But I just knew we were having a baby boy and sure enough we are (even when we had many people tell us we were going to have a girl).

I've done the crystal drano test on both my pregnancies though some people are against it and it was accurate. 12 other people I know have done it, all accurate!

Most of the OWT didn't apply to me bc I'm having twins, but the heartbeat OWT did! Baby boy always had a lower heartbeat than baby girl.

99% of the OWT said girl, I had a gut feeling it was a girl, and my whole family said girl (I have 4 nephews, and everyone said it was time for a girl)...he is a boy.
