For those of you that have started feeding solids, what are you currently feeding and how much/how often does your LO currently eat (including bm/formula feeds)?
6 oz bottle about 6am at wakeful. 8 ounces after morning nap about 11:00 depends on length of nap. Fruits, apple right now, at noon or 1. 8 ounce bottle about 2 or 3:00. And a veggie at 4 or 5. Last Bottle of the day 8 ounces at 6:00 or 6:30 before bed. I'll be adding a third meal in a few weeks

Mine was getting cereal and a fruit for lunch from my mom and I'd occasionally give him a veggie at night time. The paper I got from the doc's yesterday said to feed them solids 2-3 times a day and as much as they would eat. the example was cereal and a fruit for breakfast, lunch could be a fruit and veggie and dinner would be cereal and veggie. it said they should get a bottle (or BM) the other times. He was just getting 2Tbls dry mixed with formula till it looked right and then the fruit or veggie mixed in. I'm not sure I like the whole eat until he's done thing but I guess being 6 months it's time to start with the food. I'll probably just do the breakfast and the dinner and skip the lunch. It sounds like a lot for 6 months and might move to three meals at 7 or 8 months.
ETA: He drinks 6 ounces every three hours. When he gets the food, he usually only drinks about 4 ounces. We'll see this weekend when I try the eat all you want approach and see how much he eats.
We try to do a veggie in the morning and one again around 3-4pm. Today we had steamed broccoli crowns. He did not eat it per say, just sucked on it and gummed at it.
LO still isn't eating much solids. We try to do them once a day, but DH doesn't always get around to it. We've introduced sweet potatoes, bananas, peas, and butternut squash. We are trying avocados tomorrow and pears in 4 days.
Today was the first day I really felt like he actually ate some instead of just making a face and spitting it out.
V loves food.....if he could eat what I have he would. He gets excited when he sees his bottle and gets annoyed if we stop him to burp!
V LOVES his solids.....up until a couple of weeks ago he would fight the bottle bc he wanted to eat off the spoon. We put his formula in sippy cup just to get him to hit his required 24 ounces per day. Seemed to help. Now he's back to wanting bottles....go figure. But now in addition to sucking down his bottles, he eats all solids and looks for more!
His schedule is:
7:30 morning bottle---7 ounces
9:00---He'll take 2TBs of oatmeal plus 1 stage 2 container of fruit.
12:00--bottle 6.5 ounces
2:00 One stage 2 container meat/veggie combo and I stage 2 container of fruit.
5:00----bottle 6.5 ounces
7:00--- 2TBs oatmeal plus 1 container stage 2 veggies
We aren't on a real strict schedule. He has a bottle every 34 hours and I try to space solids out around that. We will add a third meal soon. .
6am 7ozs formula
8am 2tbsp cereal with 1/2 small jar fruit
10am 7ozs formula
Noon 1/2 a 1 small jar veggie
2pm 7ozs formula
6pm 7ozs formula
11pm 45 ozs formula

N sticks to his schedule pretty well...
6:00AM- 6oz bottle
8:00AM-2 tbsp oatmeal with 1 small jar fruit (usually homemade)
9:00AM- 6-7oz bottle
12:00PM- 5oz bottle with veggies
3:00PM- 4oz bottle
6:00PM- 2 tbsp oatmeal 3-4oz bottle
8-8:30PM- 2-3oz
His oz seem to get less through out the day.
Today was the first day I really felt like he actually ate some instead of just making a face and spitting it out.
We try to give him a sippy cup of water everyday, but he's still learning how to use it and doesn't actually drink much yet.
