DS not sleeping well in big bed, help!

DS has never been a good sleeper. He wakes at least once a night even when he was in his crib. But since we moved him to a big boy bed 3 nights ago he has been up like 5 times a night and it takes up to an hour to get him to stay asleep. We rock him and then put him down asleep. I tried patting his back in bed but he tries to get out. It has been a nightmare and I'm a zombie! Please give me some tips to help him sleep. How long did it take your LO to adjust?

    I have been fighting this battle for months.  If you have to wake for work early (like me) I suggest laying down with him in bed and try to get some sleep for yourself.  If you have the option of sleeping in after a long night, I would do the silent return method over and over and over until it takes!! GL

    Is this the one year old in your siggy?  Maybe he's not ready - that's a pretty early transition.

    Sorry I haven't updated my siggy. He just turned 2 a couple weeks ago.

    It took us about 2 weeks to get DD used to her big girl bed.  But our issue was her not staying in her bed after we said good night and wanting to get out and play or wander around.  Once she was asleep, she was fine.

    We co slept with DD until she was about two, then transitioned her to a twin bed. We slept in the bed with her for a few nights, then put a cot next to her bed. We moved the cot further away every other night or so. She is back in our bed again but that's because I can't sleep with DH right now with this big ole belly, so I am in her bed alone, lol. We will transition her the same way after the baby is here and I can sleep in our bed again.
