As I'm starting to have trouble clipping my toenails and shaving my legs, I'm curious how many women keep their girly bits groomed during pregnancy. I am seriously considering letting it all go au natural for the rest of my pregnancy, which will certainly be scary for my OB, lol. How about others out there? Do you keep up the southern grounds?
Re: To groom or not to groom
I have been getting brazilians for about 7 years now and will continue to do so. I also added half leg because I was getting bad razor burn which I've never gotten before. I would go batty if I let it go wild down there. *shudder*
This might be a weird thought but wouldn't it be easier for the doctor to stitch you up if you're nice and clean down there?
Also, my wax lady told me that you have to be careful with bikini/braz waxes when you're pregnant because some women develop varicose veins down there... yikes.
The joys of pregnancy...
I'm planning on using a mirror in the shower if possible. My backup is to let H do it, but with the way he butchers his face, I don't know if I want to let him down there.
LO then (2 days) and now (1 year)
Mom to Cam and Al, now expecting baby number 3, August 2016. Praying for lots of sticky baby dust!
If you do get waxed, just beware. I let mine go for a few months (kept it trimmed a bit, but missed an appointment) and it was SO MUCH WORSE than normal. Normally it doesn't hurt me, but this time? WOWZA. I will never skip an appointment again!
I guess I am the odd one out, I do my legs, but bikini has been trimmed only since I got pregnant, I get really bad razor burn when pregnant and although I can epilate my legs just fine, I don't have the energy to do my bikini line too, also I am planning on having electrolysis on my bikini line, and waxing and epilating before hand can make the process less affective as the hairs doesn't all grow back at the same time (actually I was planning to do it before I got pregnant again, but didn't quite get round to it in time LOL).
I get Brazilians and I got one last month that was the most painful ever! I had missed a few months - bad idea! The waxer said it is much worse when you are pregnant and the best bet its to try to keep regular appointments. Also be aware ingrown hairs are much more likely during pregnancy.
Shaving my legs is starting to get harder and I may have to wax them by mid summer.
The sight of my naturally occurring business is a lot less scary than the red and bumpy hot mess that happens when I try to shave. I've let it all hang out for a long time now. DH doesn't care. He prefers me to be comfortable. And I'm sure my OB has seen worse. Not to knock others for their grooming choices, I just have suuuuuuuper sensitive skin and it's just not worth the pain to shave.
I do get a few bikini waxes in the summer just to tidy up the sides so I don't look all sasquatch in a swimsuit. I make sure to tip the waxing lady very well.
Groom.
My legs barely grow any hair (I only have to shave every two weeks or so) and I don't bother myself with manicures and pedis.
Ever since I started shaving the lady bits, I can't bear to have them grow out. It's so uncomfortable and prickly. The plan is to keep up with the routine even if I have to bring in backup (aka hubby).
Same here! Thankfully all my years of lasering (i'm Greek, it had to be done), have left me with nearly nothing so I'm well prepped.
This. Hubby wouldn't have me trim him down there so I want to keep the grooming business discreet and a constant pleasant surprise for him. He'll see enough in the delivery room I'm sure. i think I'll need to make an appt for another brazillian as unlike some ladies on this thread, I can't just suck in my belly to see my lady parts. Haven't for a while now. the only way I can see is a full length mirror now and that's not gonna cut it when it comes to brazillian. I hate going to salons though since they never do as good a job as I do...
Our little lightbulb is on the way!

I couldn't imagine going all summer without keeping things neat and tidy down there. With the heat and the excess sweat and vaginal fluids that occur with pregnancy, then you add a full bush to that...yuck! I can trim by feel alone or I can just use a mirror if need be. DH would even help me if I asked him to. Going without grooming is just not an option for me. I like things neat and clean.

Why? He's my husband. If he can see me naked and have sex with me he can certainly help me trim/shave. I do the same for him.
It's more odd to me that anyone wouldn't ask their SO to help.
LOL my thoughts exactly!
