I'm done!!!! Vent

in Babies: 6 - 9 Months

im done with breastfeeding. Im tired of LO bringing the blood bc he refuses to stop biting. I have tried not making a reaction. I have tried saying ouch, I have tried sitting him down. I am pouring the blood literally right now bc 30 sec ago he chowed down. He will be straight formula.

    I wish I could say something encouraging.  But I got nothing.  Sorry to hear about your trouble. Do what you gotta do.

    Ugh. Mine only bit/bite when they aren't actually eating, and I just do a quick flick, tell LO sternly no, and stop the feeding. It only happened once with DD1, and it will only happen once with DD2. Sorry for your struggles!

    don't get me wrong, bfing is the best thing for baby. but IMHO, if the mommy is frustrated, baby is frustrated, there is just no point of all the trouble. when DD was born, i was being so selfish because i wanted to bf SO bad, so i kept trying and trying. my supply was so low, i tried fenugreek, mother's milk tea. i did EVERYTHING, but every night she would get so frustrated, she'd cry and squirm around and it made us both so upset. she wasn't gaining weight, i was frustrated all the time. as soon as we switched to formula, my little girl thrived just as well as she would have if she were bf. she's 22lbs now and incredibly smart and happy. 

     

    no one is judging you, you do what is best for not only the baby, but yourself too.

    I had this issue as well. LO would bite constantly. It got so bad that I ended up with an infection. At that point we switched to formula. Sorry your having a hard time momma. Keep your chin up!

    I have tried smooshing is face to my boobs. I posted it on the board a while back about him doing this and tried using each of the suggestions with no luck. I hate to do it. I love our skin to skin contact while breastfeeding. At least I did it for 8 mths of his life some did not even make it this long so for that I am grateful.

    Sorry your LO isn't playing very nice. :( Like uconn said, rule #1is feed the baby. Even if you ff, you can still do skin to skin and get all the snuggles. You are awesome. You have gone above and beyond for your sweet baby. If you do ultimately decide you're done, buy those titties a beer (and a band aid) and a sexy new bra! They've worked hard!
