co-sleeper bassinet without solid padding

Cribs are made without built in bumpers so your baby won't suffocate is they wedge themselves into the side. Yet, I'm having trouble finding a bassinet that is not pull of padding. Does anyone have a recommendation?

Arms Reach seems to be all full of padding on the sides and I even read a review by a mom whose infant turned onto his side and was blue in the face when she found him.

Re: co-sleeper bassinet without solid padding

  • I am thinking about getting the Baby Bjourn cradle instead of a co-sleeper convertible bassinet. The Baby Bjourn Cradle is mesh everywhere except for the area at the head and foot. https://www.babybjorn.com/us/products/sleep/cradle/cradle/

It won't be as convention as a co-sleeper but I will feel safer with the mesh sides and it looks easy to carry and move.

  • The arms reach clear vue is made with a lot more mesh than the regular one.
  • Thank you. I will look at those ones too.

  • I have the arms reach mini convertible cosleeper. The sides are mesh. The foot and head ends are fabric, but there's really no bulky padding anywhere. DD always sleeps with her face completely smooshed against the side, that's how she likes it. She can breathe through the mesh just fine. (If you decide on the arm's reach, I recommend the mini over the original size. The original is basically the size of a crib. DD is 6 months old (75th percentile in height) and she still has plenty of room in the mini.
