High chair in restaurants ?

High chair in restaurants ?

What do you guys do with your LO in restaurants?  I've asked for the high chair couple times but my LO is still so small - his chin is barely at the table height!  Waitresses have suggested that I bring a towel to put underneath of him but that would only boost him up 2 inches at the most.  I just end up holding him.

What do you guys do?

  • we use high chairs and have never really seemed to have a problem.  she's not sitting at the table, so it's not that much of an issue if she's too low.

  • I got a 'my little seat' which is a five point harness tie chair. We use it over a regular chair with a booster and it works better for us... I also have a clip on high chair that I keep in the car but we'veyet to use it... We saw another couple use theirs and it was handy so we got one on consignment

  • I got B one of those portable booster seat high chairs with a tray that straps onto any chair. It was the best 20.00 spent yet.

  • I just use the high chair. She's a little low, but not the end of the world. She still could reach her mashed potatoes and brocooli last night just fine =)

  • We tried for the first time on mothers day also. She did great! Definitely much easier than the carrier and she seemed happier.

We use the booster under it so it's not too short. I think the tie chair ones would work too.. We got this on consignment for 12 so it was worth it and I like the five point harness

I just put him in a highchair, he is low but manages.  We went out once and they were out of highchairs so I wore him part of the time and dh held him some.

  • My LO has been using the high chair at restaurants for about a month and a half. At first I would bring a thick blanket to stuff in to help him stay up, but he doesn't need that anymore. I have a floppy seat for the grocery cart that can be put over a high chair as well.

My LO doesn't care if he can't reach the table as long as he has something to play with.

We have used the Fisher Price Healthy Care Deluxe Booster (about $30) it is a high chair that can be used as a booster too.  it folds up pretty small, we keep it in the car.  DS loves it and I like the fact that it will fit in a booth with us so that I can keep DS on the inside and not have to worry about the high chair being in the way
