LO loves food

Is my LO the only one that loves food?  She eats 5-oz bottles every 3-4 hours (total of 5/day), she has fruit in the am, oatmeal at daycare, and veggies in the Pm.  When it is not the to eat and she sees bottles (at home or daycare) she FLIPS OUT.  I mean yells and throws a fit.  I don't know what to do...it could be 10 min after she eats and she will still flp out.  We have tried giving her more food but she doesn't get full (or doesn't appear to know when she is full).  Does anyone else's LO act this way?  Do they outgrow it?  It has gotten to the lint where we can't walk by the bottles without her getting mad.

Re: LO loves food

  • I could have written this post about 6-8 weeks ago... I swear, we were referring to DS as a goldfish.... as if he'd just continue to eat until he exploded!

At one point he was eating about 24oz of formula a day plus 2 feeds of solids (he would eat 2 large jars of stage 2 food - 8oz of food!!) And, if I would have offered more solid food, I'm pretty sure he would have kept eating!

His eating habits have changed (and continue to change) every couple of weeks!!

V LOVES his solids.....up until a couple of weeks ago he would fight the bottle bc he wanted to eat off the spoon. We put his formula in sippy cup just to get him to hit his required 24 ounces per day.  Seemed to help. Now he's back to wanting bottles....go figure. But when he eats solids he often will eat it all and look for more!

     His schedule is:

    7:30 morning bottle---7 ounces

9:00---He'll take 2TBs of oatmeal plus 1 stage 2 container of fruit.

    12:00--bottle 6.5 ounces

2:00 One stage 2 container meat/veggie combo and I stage 2 container of fruit.

    5:00----bottle 6.5 ounces

    7:00--- 2TBs oatmeal plus 1 container stage 2 veggies

8:15--- bottle--- anywhere between 5-7 ounces

This is almost identical to my LO's schedule. And yes...he LOVES his food.

  • DD LOVES her bottle.  So much so that we have stopped burping her mid way because she screams her head off when it's taken away from her.  She drinks 4 8oz bottles a  day and just started solids each night for dinner.  I don't think there's any food I can give her that she won't eat.  I sometimes think I could give her 20 oz in one feeding and she would eat it.  I don't think she knows when to stop.

  • I forgot to add, I don't think I have EVER given her a bottle she hasn't finished.  She likes to hear the nipple air sound when she's done otherwise she gets pissed.  She's a tank.
  • I have a little piggy, too.  He drinks 4-5 6 oz. bottles a day and gets solids 3x a day.  If I don't take the empty bottle into the kitchen and he sees it sitting on the table, he flips out.  He's been on amoxicillin for an ear infection and when I shake it up, he thinks I'm shaking up a bottle.  If he sees me eating something, he wants some too.  He eats everything I've given him so far and I don't think he ever gets full!

  • Thank goodness i am not the only one....I feel like everytime i pick her up from daycare they tell me she flips out when the other LOs eat.  I hope she outgrows it.
