Swelling from flip flops?

So the other night I picked up a few different color pairs of old navy flip flops like I do every summer. I wore a pair today and noticed in the late afternoon that the thong part was starting to make my toe on one foot sore but I didn't think much of it, just that they were new and I need to break them.

Well I get home and take them off and on both feet, the toe next to my big toe is swollen and sore like you wouldn't believe!

I wear these flip flops religiously every summer and this has never happened with a new pair before. Has anyone else experienced this with new flip flops yet during pregnancy? I wonder if its pregnancy related swelling or my feet just don't like old navy flip flops all of a sudden... Or maybe a combo of both?

    It's the pregnancy swelling. I've been wearing my regular, already broken in, flip flops and am finding that the tops of my feet on both sides of the straps are swelling. Real cute. I can't wait to see what happens towards the end of July!

    My doctor suggested getting shoes with a little more cushion. I was thinking of getting some Nike sandals that have the gel memory type padding or the Croc brand sandals.

    I have a pair of those Nike sandals. They are SO comfortable on the soles of your feet.

    I thought "real cute" too when I saw my toes! I have a wedding shower to go to tomorrow and a wedding Saturday. I really hope my toes start feeling better or else it's going to be an uncomfortable weekend.

    I am in MEN'S flip flops. my Mom is not happy since they aren't cute, but the top straps are thicker, and the sole has more support.

    Not even kidding. Really great priced flip flops on Zappos.com. Look for the Rocketdog brand. They are like heaven.
