Gift ideas: 9 yo girl?

My niece/goddaughter just turned 9. We still need to get her a gift. Any ideas??? She LOVES American Girl but she has SOOOO much of that that I thought I'd skip it this time. She's in some activities (lacrosse, swimming, some dance) but nothing else that she's hugely into.

    Craft kits, books, gift cards, bath/body stuff, earrings or other small jewelry, clothes, iTunes gift card.
    High School English teacher and mom of 2 kids:
