I was going to use it on nights she wouldn't sleep in her PNP, but decided not to bc I need her used to sleeping in the PnP. She's sleeps great on a completely flat surface, so I hope her PNP to crib will be an easy transition. Also, my Ped said to keep her in the PNP.
I used it for overnights for the first 6 months. Loved, loved, LOVED it. Was very sad when my daughter finally outgrew it. She slept better there than anywhere else.
We used it overnight when my son was from 2 to 6 months old. He had reflux and slept so much better in the RNP than in the Pack n Play or crib. It's also really flexible and portable, we attached a toy bar to it and if we needed to set baby down for a few minutes he was perfectly happy to sit in it and play. It was one of our favorite baby purchases!
My pediatrician's office recommended against sleeping overnight in the rock and play, especially for extended periods of time. In addition to not meeting the AAP recommendations for SIDS prevention and safe sleep, my Dr. said that it's better for developmental purposes for them to be flat and able to move around instead of bent over. My 3 week old has been in the pack n play and he's a little loud at night be overall he's been fine there. I have thought about buying the rock n play a few times since he was born but have resisted because of the bad things that I've heard about it. That being said, many people seem to be using it with no problem so it's probably ok.
Yes!! DS used it every single night for the first 5 months. I also sat him in it and dragged it around the house when I needed to shower, cook, clean, etc when he was really little.
