Pap smear before period?

So I had a pap on May 6th and I found out they didn't get enough cells. Ugh, that was the last straw with my ob/gyn after her insensitive comments about the cost of IVF. Went to a new dr to redo today (love her!) and I started to bleed during pap. It wasn't a heavy flow but the doctor asked if I should be getting my period. I said not until Monday (and I really hope the blood doesn't mess this one up!). She said it should be ok because it was light and she even did 2 just in case. lol. I've never bled during a pap before. Could I just be extra sensitive this time? Go figure that it was the least painful one I've had though lol
Our Novel of TTC:

*Male Factor (low count and low motility), High Prolactin, and Polycystic Ovaries (March 2013)
*Recurrent Miscarriage testing also revealed high anti-phospholipids & single MTHFR mutation. (Feb 2014) 

*IVF (07/2013): BFP-Natural Miscarriage @ 5 weeks* <3 Madison Riley <3
*FET #1 (10/2013): BFN
*FET #2 (12/2013)- BFP-Missed Miscarriage at 8 weeks <3 Kyle Andrew <3
*Chromosomes and Karotyping tests were both normal.We lost a healthy baby boy :(
*FET #3 (04/2014) was cancelled after finding Chronic Endometritis
*Miraculous BFP July 2014!! (I was taking baby aspirin and Cabergoline to stay regulated while "taking a break from TTC" and waiting to consult with a reproductive immunologist!!!) 

Our healthy baby girl was born 03/10/15 thanks to daily Lovenox injections and baby aspirin. There are no words for how grateful I am for our rainbow baby. <3

    Yes Same here. My annual almost always falls on CD1 or 2. It's never been a problem. FWIW, my PAP last year came back with not enough cells & Quest blamed my Dr. Her office told me that's usually what they tell patients when the sample gets spilled, so they don't look bad. It sounds like you needed to find a new doc anyway but, just thought I'd throw that out there.

       Me: IR-PCOS, elevated DHEAs, low progesterone, weak ovulation  DH: low volume, low T
    SHG 5/10/13: both tubes blocked; HSG 6/28 = Left tube cleared! Right blocked.
    BFP#1 7/20/13 EDD 3/30/14, m/c 8/19/13, D&E 8/21/13, Chromosomal results = normal, female
    Lap & hysteroscopy scheduled for 10/31, right tube cleared, no endo found! ...Happy Halloween!
    Cycle 14: Clomid (50)+ IUI = BFP! EDD 9/16/14~ Rowan Elizabeth born sleeping at 17w4d on 4/12/14 due to IC.
    ~There is no foot too small that it cannot leave an imprint on this world~
    New RE June 2014. RPL b/w - negative. SIS looking for uterine/cervical abnormalities & Asherman's 6/10/14 - ALL CLEAR!
