DH is not exempt, so he is looking at a 20% pay cut for 3+ months. I guess good news it is about half the original days and we will make it through OK.

Re: DoD announces furloughs...
Glad you guys will make it through. We barely scraped out a way to meet our personnel obligations this fiscal year but next year is shaping up to be even worse and furloughs are almost inevitable. Depending on how many days, our family could really be impacted.
It's too bad Congress and the President can't get their acts together.
Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12
Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck. Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.
This Cluttered Life
I know there are families that this will seriously impact. Our friends are both employed by DoD, so they are facing double furloughs. I think we should furlough congress!
I attended a presentation by a hill staffer and he said that they already took a 20% pay decrease, on top of the 10% cut they took a couple years back. Does that not apply to elected officials?
I'm pretty sure elected officials are exempt, they can voluntarily go to a 'salaried' position, which would mean they are eligible for furloughs.
This is our family. Both of us employed by DoD. Sucks.....but at least it's half of the original proposed days.
