Short Nap Question

So I tried something different this morning with DD to try to combat her short naps. When she woke up, we played and partied for 2 hours nonstop until it looked like she was going to fall flat on her face from all the fun.  Well, party fail.  She again woke up after 30 minutes.  That was 45 minutes ago and she hasn't cried once.  She's still just hanging out in her crib.

Would you get her up? Or leave her there since she's not crying in hopes she'll fall back to sleep? I feel bad watching her on the video monitor just lying there.

Re: Short Nap Question

  • If she's not crying I'd leave her be for a while - she might just need some "me" time.

If it's been 45 minutes, I would get DS. I usually wait 10-15 min if he has napped for less than an hour, but for him that's how long it usually takes him to pass back out if he's going to. Every baby is different, of course.

  • I always give DS a 10-15 minute grace period when he wakes up, because like PPs have said, that is usually the window for if he will fall back asleep. I can usually tell which way it's going to go, because if he's not going to drop back off, he gets louder and louder until he's basically yelling, "I'm UP!! Come get me."
