NWMR: Modern Family vent

I love Modern Family, although I don't make it up for it too often.  I hate when TV shows have a character pregnant, play up that whole story line, then totally forget the baby after delivery.  Once I had my kids they've been pretty much attached at the hip except when I'm at work and the once every other month or so I get out for an hour or so.

    I've often thought the same thing about TV shows, although I think Modern Family has included the baby in the story line more than some. The main thing I've raised an eyebrow at lately for that show was an episode where Gloria was the "I don't know how she does it lady" just because she needed to run errands on the nanny's day off! Her life sounds pretty cushy to me. I think I could "do it" pretty easily if I had no job AND a full time nanny.

    YES!  I hate this.  I comment on this during How I Met Your Mother.  They are still always at the bar or are out and about with no baby.  Super annoying.

    I think Modern Family includes the baby more than other shows I've seen.  Didn't Rachel have a baby on Friends?  You've never know from actually watching the show... ;) 

    But overall, I agree.  If you're going to write a baby in , the write the BABY in.  If you're going to make the baby "disappear", then just spare us all and skip the storyline all together.

    I said this about friends all the time and when Monica had the twins she would just leave the apparment and go accross the hall no babies in hand it drove me crazy

    I hate this too.  I mean I get it, if the baby isn't "funny" and doesn't add to the plot then whatever, but to make the baby just disappear is stupid.  I never see Sofia Vergara's baby and I always wonder where the baby is.
