Marshmallows are good at preventing meltdowns. Just throwing that out there. If you get the mini ones a serving is like two thirds a cup so its not too bad for them to have a handful. Lo thinks they're gum too so when we have gum she doesn't try to snatch it out of my mouth if she gets a couple "marsh".
Signing times and blueberries are usually my go-to negotiators.
She is over blueberries. We are onto raspberries, but I forgot to pick them up at the market the other day.
there are these things called Banana Dippers by Dole... Frozen slices of banana covered in chocolate. Keeps Wes busy for a while.
She hates cold things, other than ice cream. She won't touch a banana that has been in the refrigerator. She also hates having dirty hands, so she won't touch anything that has the possibility on melting on her. Such a diva!
Grapes are usually my goto weapons for tantrums, but we ran out yesterday.nbsp; We had to resort on Cars2 tonight.
Grapes are hit or miss. Some days it's all she'll eat, other days she won't even look at them. Pretzels or anything that has salt she can lick off seems to be her consistent go to, and olives and edamame.
DD will throw a fit right through eating, even her favorite food.
We usually tell her to look out the window. We have a corner unit on the 2nd floor and she loves to watch the people, dogs and trucks go by. It distracts her for a few minutes, anyway.
DH usually grabs her by the feet and swings her upside down. The head injuries she may get from that I'm sure are likely to be comparable to what happens when she throws herself to the ground so it's a win-win because at least she's smiling. I might have finally found a TV show she'll watch as well. She used to have no attention span to watch TV for even 5 minutes but she likes stuff from Animal Planet because she's obsessed with animals. Now that I've found that we may no longer have cable after we move in two days. FML.
Oooh, I hadn't thought of animal shows! We have a ton on Netflix and Lily is obsessed with animals. I've tried a bunch of kids' shows and she loses interest in them in about 1 minute flat. Word World lasted 5.

Lopes, I just bought minimarshmallows... she didn't like them.
No! Who hates marshmallows??
DH hates marshmallows (except in hot chocolate) and it makes me sad because I love them and he thinks it's gross when I eat them.
Our go-to solution for tantrums is to show her herself in the mirror. My kid is vain and think she's awesome.

Li is definitely my captor and I will do whatever I have to to appease her.

I love when she starts really liking something, so I buy a bunch of it, and then she decides she no longer likes it.

Hot dogs are dinner pretty much every night around here.
