  I've never had them send me a notification about registry purchases and so far I've had 23 items bought off my registry and 3 of those items were sent to our house.

  I'm not sure why it would notify us. Seems odd.

  I also turned that notification off. I can tell when things have been purchased, but would have to go to the "thank you page" to see who bought it.

  All they do is email. You don't have to look at what people bought or who sent it.

  We received our first gift from our Amazon Registry yesterday.. I did get a notification telling me something from our registry had been purchased but didn't click on anything so it would be a surprise... it's hard not to peek  

   

  How cute are the little bags the gifts come in

  This. And I check that "thank you" page at least once a day so I guess I'm the one taking the surprise out of the registry... That list is going to be so helpful when it's time to send out the thank you notes!
