Please share your daytime feeding schedule. I feel like such a scatter brain when it comes to feeding. I don't remember how I fed DD#1 and now that I'm weening DD#2 from the boob, I'm trying to figure and bottle/meal routine.
We don't exactly follow a schedule so much anymore. We go off DS2's hunger cues. So it pretty much depends on when he wants his first bottle. There are mornings he's awake for an hour before he wants to eat! We've wasted a lot of formula trying to keep him on a schedule. Some days he gets 4 bottles and 2 meals of solids, some days it's 5 bottles and like 1 1/2 meals. DS2 is healthy, happy and gaining weight normally so it works for us! GL!
What PP said. We noticed that were wasting a TON of formula trying to feed him during the same times everyday. When i would hear him wake up, i would immediately make him a bottle, and I would say 60% of the time he wasn't hungry yet. So, we just make his hungar cues and go from there. He also gets solids 2 times a day. Usually for breakfast and dinner.
Basically what PP's said. We have no schedule. Also, I only make around 3 ounces at a time. He is so interested in everything lately, it is like he doesn't want to waste time eating when he could be rolling around and talking to the dogs. We only give solids once a day so far. Usually sometime in the afternoon.
noon: more fruit and/or oatmeal/rice cereal if interested
2pm: 8 oz bottle
5pm: this is where we try new foods while DH & I are eating dinner - veggies, meats, etc.
6pm: 8 oz bottle before bed.
The food in between bottles is not always a constant at home but daycare always gives him some at 8am and noon. I do it only if he shows interest while I'm eating breakfast and/or lunch.
We have to keep the twins on a schedule or all hell breaks loose in my house!!! : They just recently went from having bottles every 3 hours to 4 hours now. Probably because we're doing more solids. This schedule works great for us! GL
