So, I had surprised my DH with tickets to see one of our favorite bands, The Avett Brothers, for this birthday last week. We are going on Saturday to see them in Nashville. So, they have this new album called "The Carpenter", and I was just online looking up some songs on youtube so I could sing along and all that. Well, I had listened to the album before, but for some reason didn't pay attention to this song.

It's called "A Father's First Spring" and it is about Scott Avett's little girl....whose name is Eleanor! We are naming our DD Eleanor Amelia, and I couldn't believe it when I heard the name "Eleanor" in the song! It was so perfect, and of course made me burst into a happy hormonal sob fest.

Anyway, it's a very pretty song. Enjoy!

We LOVE The Avett Brothers! We saw them here back in September, and they were awesome.

That song always makes me cry too, because we have a DD and it's so amazingly sweet to hear those lyrics.

The other one that always gets me, is "Murder in the City". It's the live version where he says, "Make sure my daughter knows I loved her...make sure her mother knows the same...always remember, there is nothing worth sharing like the love that let us share our name".

It is truly my favorite lyrics of all time. I had a print made of them for DH for his birthday this past year.
