My 9 month old wakes up at 5am (sometimes earlier) to eat and then goes back to sleep til almost 8am. Do I consider this a MOTN feeding and try to cut it out? He goes to bed at 8pm.
My LO is 10 months and gets up about 430 or 5 (6am at the latest) to eat. I feed her and let her sleep if she wants. She will drop that feeding when she is ready. Its a long stretch without food!
My 10 month old does this as well. He goes to bed at 8 pm and wakes anywhere between 4:30 and 5:30 to eat and then is back to sleep until 7 am or so. I figured he will sleep through that feeding when he's ready.

LO's in bed at 6pm, asleep by 6:30pm and wakes to eat at 5ish. I totally understand she's starving, usually she'll go back down til 6:30am though. I don't want to "cut" anything, I'll let her just lead.
Why worry about it? He will give it up when he's ready. I am of the belief that a hungry baby should be fed.
I'm not "worried" about it. And I'm not trying to deprive him of food if he's hungry. I guess my question was whether he is actually hungry or this is just what he is used to. I feel totally clueless when it comes to reading his "cues".
Just recently my DS decided to drop his 4am/5am feeding. He now wakes up between 6am and 7am and he eats then. I'm very relieved that I don't have to wake up to feed at 4am anymore! I think your little one will most likely drop the feeding when he/she is ready.
