I think it's natural for most people to want to park on the left, cause you are generally on the right side of the aisle, so you can see the left spaces easier, and you don't have to pull your car out to the left, to pull in to the right, (does that make sense?) But I choose whichever is closer to the front.
Whichever has more room. If DD is with me, I try to be a) close to a cart corral, and b) have an empty space on her side of the car if possible. Otherwise, I have no preference for left or right.

I think this is why I park left. I hate pulling in on the right side. I generally prefer parallel parking on the left if both sides are an option.

This or which ever is closest to the corral if I have C with me.
If DS is with me, it'll be the spot closest to the cart corral. Otherwise, I'll go to the spot on the right. I very rarely pull straight into a parking spot - I'd rather go in backwards (unless I plan to use the trunk!), so going to the right makes more sense for me since I'm already on that side of the aisle.

I go to the left, or closest to the cart corral if J is with me. My grocery store actually has preferential parking for parents next to the closer corrals. It's like a parent is in charge or something!

Gosh, I've never thought about it. I just park closest to the cart corral. I'm trying to picture myself at all the stores I go to and I can't say I favor a side.
Meanwhile, at work, we have straight stalls, not slanted, and I always reverse into my spot. I hate backing out of our parking lot so I take my time and going in backwards in the mornings when the lot is nearly empty.

My mom does this too! Although I think it's funny because her car is like 20 years old.
I usually go for the space on the right, or whichever is closest to a cart corral when I have L.

Ooh, I can't do backwards!
