How many blasts?

I know that this has probably been asked a million times before.

I am wondering how many blastocyts you transferred and if they both took?

I am asking because I am 35 and DH is 40 and I want to transfer 2, but RE will only do 1 (her policy).

We only had one blast so we transferred that one and another one that was not a blast and the rest that looked like it stopped growing. We assume the blast stuck and the other just didn't grow/implant.

With IVF #1 we transferred two blasts and one stuck. With IVF #2 we transferred one blast and it took. Good luck!

Fresh IVF- 2 blasts transferred, one split, originally pg w triplets, lost ID twins at 8 weeks, successful singleton pregnancy.

FET- 1 blast transferred and I'm pg w one this time.

From my experience, I would err on the side of going with just one, especially if that's what your RE recommends.

We transferred two. We had planned on just transferring one but there were two blasts, and the embryologist said the second would not make it to freeze. Good luck to you!

The first time we transferred 2, c/p. the second time we transferred 1 and had Grace! I would do 1, I had a very hard 3rd tri and couldn't imagine carrying multiples on top of it- GL with whatever you decide!

At 37 years old, I transferred just 1 embryo on day 3. I wasn't in the market for twins iykwim. It was a nice looking 10 cell compacting embryo. It is now DS. I only had 6 embryos growing on day 3, so we did the transfer then to be cautious. But after transfer of our little guy, 3/5 remaining turned into blasts good enough to freeze! I am so glad I transferred just 1.

Fwiw, I was mentally and financially prepared to do ivf up to 2 fresh, and 2 frozen times so that the urge to transfer for than one would not be too great.

This time we transferred 2. With my son we transferred 3. Only one stuck each time. In a previous pregnancy, I did get pregnant with twins (I can't remember if we transferred 2 or 3), but I m/c at 8w. I went through 5 IVF cycles and we never transferred fewer than 2.

First IVF we transferred 1 blast and 1 morula on day 5 and had nothing to freeze ... BFN

Second IVF we transferred 2 8-cells on day 3 and had just one. We have 3 frozen.

We transferred 2 during our 5dt. Initially, both implanted. I miscarried one baby around 7 weeks (after having several successful ultrasounds with heartbeats). We just recently found out that baby had triploidy so he really didn't have a chance - he just got the short end of the genetic stick. I believe our clinic freezes embryos in pairs. I'm not sure what our decision will be when we do a FET.

IVF #1 - transferred two, one stuck, m/c; IVF #2 - transferred two, one stuck, had DS; FET #1 - transferred two, two stuck, expecting twins. We followed our RE's recommendations each time based on our age and the quality of the embryos. ETA - Mine were all 3dts.

Mine never made it to blast, but my first cycle, I transferred 2 2-day embryos and one took. My FET, I transferred 2 3-day embryos and neither took. My third cycle, I transferred 2 3-day embryos and one took. At my clinic, at 35 years old, transferring 2 is the norm and if you choose to do an elective transfer of only 1, they make you sign a waiver stating you understand that that is all you are transferring.

For our son we did an eSET of one 4AA PGS normal blast. I totally understand why people do 2 but I did not want to do anything to encourage the chances of having twins.
