FU: wake up post below--nightmares??

This is a follow up to the comments in my post below:

Does any one know anything about baby nightmares? What causes them, What they could be about? He is so young ans has such a limited universe, what could be causing him nightmares?

just curious if anyone has any info!

  • They can dream about people they saw, things they are scared, some say that even the birth experience. DD has nightmares on occasion and her pedi said they are pretty common. The difference is that babies act them out (fling arms, kick, etc) and we don't.

  • I am starting to think DD is having them too. She wakes up from a sound sleep, gets to her feet and starts screaming in a matter of a second. And when I go in to rub her back she is clinging on to my arms until I bring her to bed... This week has been every night at 10 or 11.
