just asking b/c I was reading an article about b.f.ing and one of the comments mentione a co worker whose pump parts were always drying on top of the microwave. I get complaints when mine are visible in my office!
I always washed & dried it at work & then put away. I don't think it is anything anyone wants to see. And your daughter is BEAUTIFUL! Have you thought about modeling?

No one has a chance to see my pump parts. I keep everything in my pump bag and do all the cleaning when I get home. I just bought a set of parts for each pumping I do at work. I doubt anyone would say anything about it, but this something I have chosen to keep private.
I dry them out on a small drying rack at my desk. They're partially hidden from view by a file holder full of files, but if you come into my cubicle, you can see them. That's what some of my friends at work who used to pump always did, so it's not a big deal in my office. My boss and several of my co-workers are very pro-breastfeeding and pumping and established the nursing mothers' room for our building a few years ago.
When I was pumping I would go and rinse my parts and then assemble my pump again and leave it set up on my desk until the next time I had to pump. I don't see anything wrong with people knowing that I was BFing. . . But, I'm weird like that I suppose. I also work with mostly men and I don't think they actually knew what it was. And people don't often come into my office.

I would rinse the parts, wipe them dry, and put them back in the bag until next pumping session.
I wasn't embarrassed if people knew I was pumping (hello, everyone knew what I was doing when my office door was closed, and I had no qualms about carrying the parts down to the employee bathroom to rinse).
I put them away to keep them as clean as possible. If they're laying out in the breakroom, who's to say who will touch them? If they're laying out on my desk, how many ways could they be contaminated?
I wash with warm soap and water after each session (except last one of the day) and dry with paper towel then back in plastic bag out of sight. My lactation consultant said not to worry if they didn't dry by the next session, so keeping them tucked away is ok (I teach Middle School . . . I wouldn't DARE leave the parts out where they might see . . . couldn't explain THAT one to 13 year olds!!!)
