What do you all do???

Until recently, he slept pretty much all night.  Now he is waking up in the middle of the night sometimes 3 times.  Sometimes he is just making noises and squirming with his eyes closed.  I have been rocking him back to sleep.  Sometimes he wants a bottle, other times he doesn't.  I am wondering if I am doing something wrong.

He eats dinner about 6, then he has a bottle about 9.  He goes to sleep shortly after his bottle. He has been getting up about 12, 2, and 4. He was a great sleep early on, sleeping about 6+ hours. Not so much now...

Any suggestions?

  • Seems like there's some kind of wakefulness striking our board, all of the sleep posts are back.  R is in a bad patch too, I'm just waiting it out.... over trying to figure it out.  The only time I really change anything is if he's crying like he's in pain....then I want to know why.

Leave him for 10 or 15 minutes if he is not crying but making noises. When you hear him, look at the clock, and make yourself wait. If his eyes are closed he may just need a chance to settle himself back to sleep. He is getting older so sleep patterns may be changing and he may not need you to rock him - give him a chance to fall back asleep on his own. He's already a good sleeper. Really, the fact his eyes are closed makes me think you might be wise to try to let him settle himself back down.

Lots of kids are noisy sleepers. This might just be how he sleeps! Give him a shot at falling back to sleep on his own, coach! :)

Thanks you so much! I will try that tonight. I need to turn the monitor down a little! :-)

Honestly, we dealt with with for over a month, and then we sleep trained this past weekend. In 2 days, his sleep was SO MUCH BETTER, and now I know if he wakes up, it's because it's time for him to eat. I was going insane from all the night wakings, and also from having no idea what he wanted when he woke up.
