Baby Wearing Mamas

What carrier are you using right now, and how do you like it?

I was usung the baby Ktan, and I really liked it for the newborn phase, but now that LO is 16+lbs, its just really awkward no matter which position I use. We also have a baby bjorn, and DS loves facing forward, but it kills my back, so I need somethign else! I am torn between an ergo or a boba, but I'm affraid that DS is going to hate facing inward. The carrier is the only way I can go shopping with both kids without the stroller, so I need to find something soon, thanks for the help! Smile

I have a mie tia - Kozy. I really like it. I wear him high on my back and he can look around and it makes him feel really light - he is 20lbs. Also, we went to a resturant and they were out of high chairs so I wore him in a hip carry while I sat and we were both really comfy.

I still wear the BB but she is only 15 pounds. I don't love the ergo for short trips as she wants to look around.

I also loved the Baby K'Tan when LO was a newborn, and even until about a month ago it worked really well but now she doesn't like to be so close and snuggled up next to me anymore. We have the Ergo and LOVE it! We were deciding in the end between the Boba and the Ergo. I found them equally comfortable but DH found the Ergo more comfortable, so we went with that. I also like that it has the pocket in the front. For traveling, the pocket is really nice since I was able to put my boarding passes and phone in there, which made boarding the plane really easy. For walks around town, I can fit my phone, keys and a few dollars in the pocket. If you have the option, I would definitely say go to a baby store to try them on with LO and wear it around the store for 10-15 minutes, since you won't know how you like it until you can try it on with LO in it for a little while.

I have the Ergo Sport and we like it well enough. I had a K'Tan but DS HATED it (would scream until I let him out), so I was super worried that he would hate the Ergo as well (Ergo was a gift). Luckily, he tolerates it fine. He loves to look around so he's constantly turning his head from side to side. We do walks in it and it's comfortable enough to wear him for an hour... 2 hours max (DS is 18lbs).

I use a Beco Butterfly 2. When someone else is around, I do back carry, which she likes best. I am clumsy getting it on my back by myself though, and she is ok with the front carry. I have tried forward facing with the Baby Ktan and it felt a bit unstable...

They really aren't supposed to face forward anyway. It's bad for their hips.
We have a Beco Gemini. I really like it so far.

We also have an Ergo and love it. We have an organic one and it can get a little hot when it's hot outside but I think the sport and performance ones are supposed to breath better.
DD can look around fine from side to side.

This.We like our ergo a lot. I do want to maybe get a sakura ring sling because I like how they look, but don't know if I baby wear enough to justify another carrier...

This is true. I have done it for 5-15 minutes on occasion but try not to make a habit of it. If you google "forward facing carrier" you will get a ton of results around why not to do it.

As your LO gets heavy the carriers feel as comfy on your back guess.I was giveb baby bjorn and love it we use it as muc any more though sonce the weather got nice we stroller ride more.

I only last an hour carrying him anyway he is only 17 pounds no hope for me:)

I use the ring sling for quick trips in and out of stores. For long term use it is a little uncomfortable as my son is heavy.

Most days I use the Boba which I love. I can either carry him on the front or on my back. It is super easy to get on and off.

I LOVED my Moby, but my guy is way too big for it now.

We have been using all of the above since he was born.

We have the ergo sport and I love it. Z is 21 lbs of love and I frequently wear her for weekly shopping trips an hour or more and even for some walks although where it has been almost 110 every day this week 108 at 6 pm, I can see the outdoor walks ending.
