Dads & Dads-to-be

I may have the biggest wuss of a dog.

My dog is afraid of just about everything.  My wife has been using a large exercise ball (bouncing on it is supposed to help get the baby in position for delivery).  Our dog can't even be in the same room with it when she is using it.

Did I mention that he is a 75 lb golden retriever?

  • Did you get the dog as a puppy, or was he a rescue?

We got him as a puppy.  He has no reason to be afraid of it.  He's afraid of anything that seems to move by itself.  And anything above his head.  If you carry a box from one room to another he'll run away.

He's not afraid of people or other dogs, just inanimate objects.

  • It's the breed. My golden retriever is about 2 and he is scared of everything. We got him as a puppy as well so he's never been abused or anything but if it moves he's scared of it. My wife coaches volleyball and even though he loves tennis balls if we just walk into a room holding a volleyball he scatters. The funniest thing is if he's standing in the middle of our living room and is wagging his tail and it bumps the entertainment center then he is out of the room before he even knows what happened :)
