3rd Trimester

Can I just complain for a moment?

I'm 31 weeks and starting to be increasingly miserable!  Can't sleep, heartburn and the need to pee wakes me up all night...so then I feel exhausted all day.  And now I have a cold.  Lovely!!  I just keep telling myself, "A few more weeks!"

Re: Can I just complain for a moment?

  • Wait until you're 38 weeks.... So swollen and just laying In bed is uncomfortable.

  • Right?! This is my 3rd baby and I swear nature wipes your memory of all the not-so-fun parts about pregnancy to trick us into doing it again!!  haha!
  • I'm 5 days late, haven't slept in my bed for 4 days now because my heartburn is so bad and my allergies kicked in so I can't breathe. Not to mention I don't sleep anymore because my anxiety and insomnia took over. I hate to tell you this but you still have quite a while.

  • It gets worse (sorry). I'm 35 weeks and can barely lift myself out of bed w. swollen feet and hands. And my doc says it's completely normal (as long as your BP and urine check out ok). I have to ice my feet and sleep propped up on 5 pillows at night. I laugh sometimes bc I never pictured it to be like this, but you are super close. Hang in there! Smile

A small ray of hope- just because you feel this crummy now doesn't mean it will stay this bad or worse until you deliver. I'm 37 wks 2 dys and every day is different. I felt pretty crappy between 30-32 weeks. Somewhere around week 34 I spent 4 hours in the bath tub because it was the only place I was comfortable. Yesterday I was so cranky I thought I'd probably get fired. But then I had an awesome sleep last night (9 hours with 6 trips to the bathroom, natch) and today I'm pretty chipper and managed to motivate myself to go for a walk and do some stretching. Tomorrow, who knows?

Try to take it day by day, you might be surprised.

  • I'm 36 weeks and am now dealing with my usual late spring sinus issues on top of all the regular pregnancy stuff.  I've had a headache for three days.  So yeah, I feel your pain.  Don't worry, every pregnancy is different but the one thing they all have in common: no pregnancy lasts forever!

  • Complain Away!  We're here to listen b/c we're all complaining right along with you more than likely.  LOL!  I dread getting dressed for work every day.  I'd rather lay butt a$$ naked in bed all day.  NOTHING FITS ME right now.  I suggest you take Zantac for your heartburn, I finally broke down and got some and boy did it make a world of a difference.

I love how positive you are :)  That hot bath sounds great, I think I'll do that tonight!

Genius, I didnt even think of zantac!  I've been gobbling tums like they're going out of style!

UGH nothing fits me either...I hate getting dressed for work.  I just say "Well I wore these pants yesterday, no one will care though right? Since I'm prego?"  blahh.

Zantac is my new best friend, it last longer and I haven't needed my tums. I'm right there with ya as far as feeling crappy. My throat hurts, hip hurts and my pubic bone feels like someone played soccer with my hoo ha.

This was very encouraging from another 31-weeks-and-miserable FTM. Thank you!

Are you kidding? I often wear the same pair of pants 3+ times a week (am only comfy in my It! super dark, stretchy, skinny maternity jeans; have two pair that I wear the majority of my days). Anyone at work who doesn't like it can suck it. :D
