okay, I think we've established that Isabel/Isabella is super-popular. I grew up with a very popular name in the 80s and I survived, but we'll see.
Anyway, need advice. DD1's name is Elise. i think we're looking for at least 2 syllables, somewhat old fashioned, nothing too common, if we can help it. we have a 2 syllable old fashioned middle name picked out, and a 2 syllable last name. here's what we like:
Still on the table: Isabel, Nora
Vetoed by DH: Penelope (which I am in LOVE with), Cecelia, Amelia, Nina, Charlotte
Cant use for various other reasons, but still really like: Cora, Meredith, Clara, Madeline
Ideas?
Re: Common name follow up - need ideas!
Cora or Clara! But Cora is one of my favorites.
If you really love Isabel, just go for it.
Amy, Bridget, Camille, Daphne, Heidi, Julie, Laurel, Marissa, Natalie, Simone

Not sure why Cora is off the table, but what about cara?
more ideas-Genevieve, Caroline, Julia
Our name list was similar to yours - Norah, Amelia, Cora, Clara, Cecelia were all on it
Others from our list:
Tess/Tessa, Claire, Greta, Eliza, Isla, Natalie, Cecily, Lydia, Grace, Miriam
GL! I found DD2 was SO MUCH harder to name than DD1. I felt like we'd used our favorite girl names on her and spent a solid 30 weeks pitching names to DH to find something we loved as much as DD1's name!
