Can implantation bleeding be heavy?

Hi

I was wondering if anyone has had heavy implantation bleeding?

I started bleeding over a week before I expected my period but it was quite heavy for 2 days and that pretty much stopped and I had some spotting.  It has been a few days since the spotting stopped but I'm having cramps and backaches and feeling bloated.

I thought I would ask and see if anyone has experienced something like this.

thank you!

Re: Can implantation bleeding be heavy?

  • Implantation bleeding is just a drop or two, usually noticed only when you wipe. Heavy bleeding for two days is a period.  Sounds like you got it early.

Are you charting/temping so you know when you ovulated?

    Ticker warning.

I have experienced implantation bleeding twice and it wasn't heavy bleeding either time. The first time it happened right when I expected my period and was just enough to be visible on my tampon for two days. This last time I just had spotting for two days and it started a couple days before I was expecting my period so I was just using a pantiliner. I think the first time was a tiny bit heavier because it was twins, but it was still just spotting rather than fresh bleeding. The color of the spotting was always brown or peachy. Never red. Hope this helps. It sounds like you had a wonky period. I know it's really stressful, best wishes for a future bfp!
