H had her tubes put in this morning. Everything went great, she already had another double ear infection, so the tubes was really our best option. She is sleeping now but hopefully we will start to hear new words/sounds soon.
Surgery is so scary, but I'm glad your DD is sleeping well!
I'm sure her sounds/words will pick up quickly. DS started walking/running within a day or two of having his tubes at 13 months (he was way too unstable before the tubes). We could see almost immediate improvement in his hearing. He failed his hearing test miserably in one ear and partially in the other before surgery. After the tubes he thought it was hilarious when we whispered and was awestruck by all animal sounds. It is amazing how fast kids catch back up.
