    1) How much cooking do you do on an average week? I usually only cook once a week.  Sometimes less. Embarrassed How often do you get take-out & delivery? Very rarely, maybe once a month.  How often do you eat out?  Usually once a week.

    2) What are some of your favorite dishes to make?  I do a lot of easy crock pot stuff on the weekends like roast with veggies.  During the week we do easy stuff like tacos, spaghetti w/ spaghetti squash, and turkey patties with sweet potato fries.

    3)  What is your "go-to" dish if asked to bring one to a pot-luck dinner?  My mom's chicken and rice (not the creamy kind.)  It's just chicken breasts, rice, onion soup mix, italian seasoning, and olive oil, throw it in the oven, comes out amazing.  So easy and so delicious!

    4)  Does your DH/SO cook?  If so, how often does he cook?  Oh yes.  MH does the vast majority of the cooking.  He cooks most nights of the week plus breakfast on the weekends.

    5) Love or Hate cooking?  I like cooking, I'm just not very good at it.  I love to bake though!

    6) Which one of you is a better cook?  You or YH/SO?  MH by far.

    7) Anyone here grow your own foods?  YES!  We have a huge raised garden in the back yard and we grow most of our own veggies.  Right now we have collard greens, spinach, cabbage, potatoes, onions, and basil.

  • It's so awesome that some of you guys grow your own food!

    1) How much cooking do you do on an average week?  How often do you get take-out & delivery?  How often do you eat out?

I cook 7 days a week; including lunches on weekends.  Very rarely we get take-out... I'd have to be very desperate (or tired). No longer eat out because of M's potential meltdowns.  Once a month if we're lucky.

    2) What are some of your favorite dishes to make?

Depends on the season.  In Summer, I LOVE caprese salad using heirloom tomatoes, fresh mozzerella from local farm, plus basil from my 'garden'.  In Winter, pasta casseroles are comfort foods.

    3)  What is your "go-to" dish if asked to bring one to a pot-luck dinner?

Lately it is a sesame noodle salad.  Otherwise, it's usually pasta salad.  Somehow pot-luck parties tend to happen in the summer time, hence salads.

    4)  Does your DH/SO cook?  If so, how often does he cook?

He knows how to cook but rarely does, simply because logistically it makes sense for me to do it (I'm SAHM, DH gets home around 6:30).  Once in a blue moon I'll ask him make pizza; that is his specialty (i make the dough, he does the stretching etc).

    5) Love or Hate cooking? I was a terrible cook up until I quit working several years ago.  Now I LOVE cooking most of the time.

    6) Which one of you is a better cook?  You or YH/SO? Definitely me; practice makes perfect!

    7) Anyone here grow your own foods?

We don't have a yard, but I grow plants in container pots.  I mostly grow herbs because they're easy to grow & care for, and I LOVE having fresh herbs on hand all the time in the summer!  I hate spending $$$ on fresh herbs at the produce store and only use a small portion of it.

I grow: rosemary, chives, basil, parsley, mint.  I also grow cherry tomatoes in pots.  This year I have 6 cherry tomato plants (up from 4 last year).  They won't fruit until July... can't wait!

    1) How much cooking do you do on an average week?  How often do you get take-out & delivery?  How often do you eat out?  I pretty much cook 5 days a week, we do takeout on Fridays and a big lunch/dinner at my ILs every Sunday.  We don't eat out as much as we used to because DS goes to bed so early!  We do more takeout than going out - we probably go out every couple of weeks, whereas we used to go out every week.

    2) What are some of your favorite dishes to make?  I love trying new things.  I can't really think of favorites because they change so often!

    3)  What is your "go-to" dish if asked to bring one to a pot-luck dinner?  I always bring some sort of side, like a nice green salad or pasta salad.  I always get nervous about sharing my main dishes, even though I don't consider myself a bad cook.

    4)  Does your DH/SO cook?  If so, how often does he cook?  He doesn't really cook.  He will be the one to grill when we do though.  I can probably count on my hands the number of times he's cooked, but he does help me in the kitchen.  And he makes me lunch for work everyday :)

    5) Love or Hate cooking?   I like cooking...when I have free time.  I don't like having to come home from work and cook.

    6) Which one of you is a better cook?  You or YH/SO?  I'm the better cook.

    7) Anyone here grow your own foods?  We usually have a little garden and grow some veggies (mostly tomatos) and herbs.  Nothing big though.

    7) Anyone here grow your own foods? We grew some veggies, fruits and hops at our old house, but haven't really gotten into it yet at the new house.

  •  How was your Mother's Day?

Very nice! SFIL was in town and cooked a huge brunch for us, plus my family. He also made an amazing dinner with steak, bacon wrapped asparagus, and blue cheese mashed potatoes. Nomnomnom!!

    1) How much cooking do you do on an average week?  How often do you get take-out & delivery?  How often do you eat out?

We almost exclusively cook in. Now sometimes it is real food, sometimes it is Costco frozen stuff.

    2) What are some of your favorite dishes to make?

    These days, anything crockpot.

    3)  What is your "go-to" dish if asked to bring one to a pot-luck dinner?

Green bean casserole or a cheesy dip.

    4)  Does your DH/SO cook?  If so, how often does he cook?

Yes! Depends on time of year. I work a ton in the summer, so that is all him. The rest of the year it is more me, but we do trade off.  He is really good, but I taught him except for grilling.

    5) Love or Hate cooking?

    Enjoy, but not completely love.

    6) Which one of you is a better cook?  You or YH/SO?

Cook, me. Grill, him.  Baker, neither.

    7) Anyone here grow your own foods?

Yes, we have a fairly extensive veggie and herb gardens. We also have fruit trees. However, we are letting the gardens go this year as it is too much work with a baby.

  • 1) How much cooking do you do on an average week?  How often do you get take-out & delivery?  How often do you eat out?  I don't cook often, DH does more often.  We probably cook in 3-4x a week, get take-out or quick meals at the grocery store 2-3x and go out once.

    2) What are some of your favorite dishes to make? We grill out a lot in the summer and do crock-pot meals in the winter.  I love stuff bell peppers and tacos.

    3)  What is your "go-to" dish if asked to bring one to a pot-luck dinner? cheesy potatoes

    4)  Does your DH/SO cook?  If so, how often does he cook? Yes, he cooks.  He does more of the meal planning, which means he picks out the meats, and then I handle the sides.  It actually is pretty reflective of our overall relationship :)

    5) Love or Hate cooking? I really enjoy cooking, but I don't have a lot of time to do it during the week.

    6) Which one of you is a better cook?  You or YH/SO? I'm probably the better cook b/c I'm more thoughtful about the meals.  He's likes picking out good meats or fish but needs help seasoning it and I'm better at pulling a total meal together.

    7) Anyone here grow your own foods? I have an herb garden and grow some vegetables in the summer.
