QOTD - Have you splurged on any particular baby item? Meaning, even though it's more expensive than other products you just had to have it and bought it anyway. Bonus points for PIP.

We had our second ultrasound last Thursday and the babies are growing great! They are both measuring ahead of where they should be so that's very promising! We haven't bought any baby items yet but I have a feeling we will be splurging on a bad a** stroller or dresser/changing table.
Things are going well. I feel that my belly is growing exponentially and I'll be curious to see what I measure at my midwifery appt next week. We're getting organized more around the house and that feels good. We paid off our furnace, so now we're looking into new washers and dryers.
I'm not sure if we've really splurged on anything, but we haven't bought much yet and are fairly minimalistic. That said, I definitely value natural and organic products so we're budgeting more for certain things. For example, our crib mattress is organic which means more $$ than a basic one, but I feel that's worth it. I'm also currently obsessed with building our cloth diaper stash, and did spend a bit more on two of these hanging wet bags that match one of the designer fabrics in the quilt that my nana's making for the baby -- which just seemed perfect and I couldn't pass them up.

We are doing well, not too much new. We finally went facebook public with our pregnancy so it has been fun getting all the responses from friends on there. My next big step is telling work, I am still not 100% sure when I want to let them know. I am waiting until it feels right and an opportunity to talk to people one on one presents itself. Other than that I am still having some puking days and some really good days.
QOTD: No big splurges here yet. We have bought a few cloth diapers and onsies but nothing big yet.

Second beta came back at 730. Anything over 570 would have been an appropriate increase so I'm happy with it. Still pregnant! No symptoms yet.
QOTD: I haven't been pregnant long enough to splurge!

I'm looking forward to the 2nd tri, I feel it is close now and hoping I will get some energy. I'm very absent minded and forgetful lately and I don't know if I can blame pregnancy or not. I went to the gym yesterday and parked my scooter out front. When I came out it was gone, so I called the police and they came so I reported it stolen. Then I found it around the corner - I had parked it somewhere else. Ah! My wife laughed a lot about this one.
I'm feeling emotional and hormonal - and I've been reading a book that makes me cry and not so sure this is a good thing. I survived the 2010 earthquake in Port-au-Prince, Haiti as I was working there for 2.5 years and I saw a lot of death and destruction. My friend wrote a book about it that just came out, and I'm reading it every night and crying. My wife says I should stop, it's not good for baby. I don't know. Maybe it's time to go back to therapy.
QOTD: The $55 doppler that I can't figure out how to work. So far, not a good investment. I'm trying to not drive myself crazy with it and will wait for 2nd tri and have midwife show me how to use and then maybe I'll be glad I have it!

I have been either nauseous or starving for about a week now. I am also extremely tired and haven't even been to the gym or on a run in a week. Its frustrating, but it will pass. I never realized how challenging the first trimester could be!
We haven't had any big spurges, but I am sure they will come. We have our first ultrasound this Thursday. If that goes well I am sure my partner will be ready to shop.
Still feeling pretty good. Our a/s is Thursday and I'm anxious and excited. I feel the baby very inconsistently and usually at night. My feet and ankles have started swelling a bit if I'm on my feet for a while, which is disturbing.... But other than that, things are going good.
Our splurge was over last weekend. A pottery barn rocker/glider. And I will definitely post a pic when it arrives next month. :

Joy - both DD and these two boys have organic mattresses. If you haven't already purchased yours (although it sounds like you have) Costco has a few great selections from the L.A. Baby line.

We are halfway there and had our anatomy/gender ultrasound yesterday. We are really exciting and telling our parents tonight what their grandchild will be!
Our biggest splurge was our carseat/stroller combo that we actually got during a pretty nice sell on diapers.com.
