friends expecting triplets..what gifts to give

My husband's BF and wife are expecting triplets, hoping to make it to 35 weeks which would put them having the babies mid October. I want to send them a little something but not sure what. Any suggestions? I want to start buying them stuff for the babies but I haven't had a chance to talk to them yet.

  • Best gifts to me were a PP gift set full of easy to grab snacks for when you don't have time to eat. I hated freezer meals because they were always too large to eat for just myself when DH was working and I was alone with babies. Also had slippers and comfy stuff to wear after c section.

Also, my mom got us a box of gift cards to multiple places that delivered food to our house which was AWESOME!

Something for babies, I would definitely see if they plan to use disposable or cloth diapers and wipes as well as formula or breastfeeding.

A variety pack of diapers in either cloth or disposables would be nice.
I was also gifted a few different cans and brands of formula for just in case one didn't work we didn't drain our bank account trying out different ones which came in so handy because the first few we tried didn't work and that would have been an easy 100 down the drain.

Even better than getting them diapers is to pool all your friends and give them nothing but diapers - my husband's office had everyone bring in a pack of diapers and we didn't buy diapers for 6 mos!  It was awesome.

Food - either make dinner, set up a meal train  https://www.mealtrain.com/ or gift certificates.

  • Everyone thinks Diapers, but wipes are expensive too. That'd also be a great gift. And of ourse, any time you could spare to give them a hand. In the early days getting to sleep for a couple hours was like being sent to heaven. Also, lots of people want to help in the first couple months, but their babies will be a handful for quite a while. I'm sure and help you could give at 6 months or 9 months would also be appreciated.

  • Pre-made meals, or gift cards for local delivery/ take out, gift of a laundry service or cleaning service. I know it's not as fun as shopping for baby stuff, but those things were all SO helpful in the early days :)

I think a great gift idea would be "coupons".  Give them a whole book of things they can "redeem"

Laundry certificate, you come in and do their laundry once a week for the first (however long you want, 1-3 months)

Dishes certificate, same idea as Laundry

    Cleaning certificate

Sitting certificate (something as simple as sitting in the house, letting mom and dad sleep while you sit and "watch" the little babies

    Lawn Care certificate

Shopping certificate )they give you a list, probably the moolah too, you go to the store and deliver)

Gift Certificates for massages! (Not done by you, unless you are a massage therapist)

These are just ideas. It's the "time" things that will be most helpful, giving them a breather.

  • Definitely gift cards for restaurants that offer delivery and gift cards for diapers! Believe me .... they will really appreciate that !

  • I wish we were closer but we are almost 4 hours away from them! I know we will be more than happy to go down for the weekend and give them a break. I've already shipped them 2 cases of wipes and a few gender neutral items from  Old Navy. Momma to be is 12 weeks along so we won't know the sexes for a few more weeks. I will definitely get with the parents to be and some of their local friends and get some restaurant recs for some GCs.
