Hi Mommas! DD is starting daycare next week so I'm trying to get everything labeled. A couple of questions....
did you label the bottle ring and cap in addition to the bottle itself?
how did you label machine washable items such as bibs, burp cloth, spare clothing? (I made the mistake of buying some kiddo tags that are NOT machine washable and needless to say they fell off already)
I found labels on Kiddo Tags specifically for machine wash but it seems like they will be too big for smaller items like bibs and burp clothes.
Any recommendations or input is greatly appreciated...thanks!!
Re: Labeling for Daycare
www.mabelslabels.com - they have tiny ones that fit on the tags of clothes/bibs and are machine washable.
I didn't label the nipple/ring b/c they shouldn't be taking them off the bottle.
We put washable labels on the bottles and for clothes, we used a Sharpie and just wrote my daughter's initials on all the tags for the back up clothes. We don't label the clothes she wears everyday and we don't send her to daycare in nice clothes.
You may not need to put her name on everything - I went a little overboard with the labeling at first.
I'm a mabelslabels fan too. I usually buy extra when they have a sale.
We got small round labels that are washing machine and dishwasher safe from "Name Bubbles." We've been using them for 5 months now and none of them have come off.
I put one on the bottle itself and the cap. Also, her spare outfits that stay in her cubby and jackets or anything that would come off during the day. I bought a bunch of cheap bibs just for daycare and wrote her initials at the back with a Sharpie. I didn't go totally label crazy and stick one on every piece of clothing.
I use www.inchbug.com
I bought the bands to go around his bottles, so I don't have to label each one. That's the only thing I label - they don't wash the bottles, so there wouldn't be a need to label each part. Occasionally, daycare will mark his bottle cap with a marker, but it comes right off in the dishwasher. They haven't mentioned that I should be labeling them permanently, so I just stick with the bands.
I also bought their clothing labels and haven't had a problem with them coming off in the wash. They fit perfectly on little bib and clothing tags.
ETA: I only label the extra clothes we leave at daycare and his bibs.
