Exercise

Hi everyone,

Just had my 12 week scan and happy to say everything is fine with baby number 2. I want to start back at the gym but I am unsure what exercise I can do can anyone help ??

Re: Exercise

  • The general guideline is that in a healthy pregnancy, you can keep doing the activities you were doing before getting pregnant, as long as you respect your body's changing limits. Obviously, activities with a high risk of impact, falling, or other such dangers should be avoided. And if you've been skipping the gym since finding out you were pregnant, you'll need to ease back in carefully.

Of course, your doctor is your best resource if you're not sure what is safe for your particular situation.

Generally speaking, walking, swimming, prenatal yoga and light weights are all fine even if you hadn't been doing them before. Just start slow and listen to your body
  • Pretty much anything! Just don't go too hard on yourself ;)
