TL;DR
Today was supposed to be moving day into our new house and I am not taking it well. It is supposed to be another week but I am living out of boxes and have myself convinced that it's all going to fall apart. So I moped around like a grounded teen.
Dom took us out for ice cream to cheer me up and the sugar turned my kids into royal azzholes. We tried taking them to the park to burn off energy, but they still ruined my nice seafood dinner. We were totally that family, begging them to watch cartoons on the phone while they screeched and threw chopsticks into the water feature.
H went to get me Redbox movies and candy. How was everyone else's day?
Re: Post your Mothers Day whines here.
I didn't sleep in, I woke up before my child (5:45am). I fed her some yogurt. Then I had to share my breakfast with her because that's how she rolls. While MH took B for a walk, I cleaned out the nursery for the new baby, did the dishes, and straightened up.
I have been having serious allergy attacks the last 2 days. I want to cut my head off.
B is getting 2 molars on top which basically meant every little thing was a MAJOR thing.
I'm beat.
I was hoping to sleep in...but didn't get to. I wanted to go to the beach but it was supposed to rain all day at the coast. We stopped by SO's grandma's retirement home to see her. We swung by SO's parents house and SIL came storming out with a pissed off look because I didn't come give her a hug and say happy Mother's Day to her, even though I had text her this morning and was in the car with Gator because she was getting restless before our 2 to 2.5hr drive. I have her a hug and she wouldn't let me explain why I didn't get out of the car, she just kept beig a bush and biitching so I said "hey I said Happy Mother's Day.....what more do you want? Your not MY mother." Yeah, the jerk came out of me. We finally got on the road and Gator was actually pretty good on the drive out there. We manage to hit the beach and also do some shopping in the local town before the rain hit. We just got back home and I have been doing the dishes and acting like it's pretty much a regular day.
I have a paper due tomorrow. Progress? None.
I think I'm going to get drunk and Kerouac this thing.
Today was pretty much a normal Sunday. Which means H worked at 6 am and I spent the day trying to get DD to play by herself so I could work.
I worked like a mad woman at work on Sat. We had 100+ orders to get through before I could go home. Ugh.
I wanted to do lawn work this weekend so I brought this on myself but we shoveled 2 tons of dirt from the trailer and then got 1600 pounds of river boulders. So frucking sore!
I was disappointed that I only got one card from Audrey and everyone else forgot to get or make me a card. This did not go over well.
Especially since he spent 20 bucks to mail a card to his Mom in Hawaii.
Dh had to work all day. I got up with dd and we went out to breakfast. Then I thought we'd go to the mall to the bounce place and let her burn off some energy. The mall didn't open until noon, so we rode the glass elevator a couple of times and then left. We went to the park where there was a butterfly house and then walked around for a while, came home and she took a good nap. After nap we played with sidewalk chalk and bubbles and then I ordered in Thai food. It was a pretty good day of dd and mommy, and she was a very good girl.
** I was on mobile and didn't see the whine part... When DH did get home we were watching some sophia the first and he asked why we'd been watching tv all day and that he was starving.
We invited DH's mom, dad and sister down for brunch. SIL has a DD only 11 days older than H so I was hoping we'd be able to get some pictures of all of the moms with their kids. I had cute outfits picked out for H and L (and myself, I may add lol)
Well, I must've ate something with dairy that I was unaware of, because H was spitting up the whole day. I literally had to change my entire outfit 4 times. Of course, I had to change her clothes, too, so by the end, we were both wearing the most ridiculous thing haha.
I also ended up doing all the laundry from yesterday's fiasco, so I guess I was a little pissed about that, too. Oh, and I never got a "good" picture of L, H and myself.. so I was irrationally upset about that, too.
Em woke up and she and I went downstairs where I replanted all the herbs and veggies we got the day before. She played by herself and was fantastic.
Then I mowed the lawn and she was still great. DH played with her for 5 minutes, put her down and went back upstairs. When I entered the room I saw that she had drawn all over our dining room wall and a few chairs with black crayon and dumped half a glass of water all over herself and the floor.
Mostly a good day, just ended badly.
An actual conversation that occurred on our 8am walk to Starbucks before my ILs, who were visiting for the weekend. came over for the day
DH: I see a lot of dads out with their kids this morning. I guess they let the moms sleep in.
FIAN: Yeah, looks like it.
DH: I didn't even think of that. Did you want to sleep in?
FIAN: Um, well, yeah, it probably would have been nice.
DH: Oops. Why don't you take a nap when DD goes down?
FIAN: Don't worry, I plan to.
Burned by the Bear
So then, he starts complaining that I should just go buy what I want myself because I always exchange it anyway. Well my love, it's not a present if I have to swipe my own credit card, yes I know the money is coming from the same place. But stop whining man, you picked the salmon instead of the black. Get over it. Besides, the first words out of your mouth were that you knew I was going to exchange, so why are you so surprised?
Ok, that was my snobby whine/vent.
Whaaaat? This made me do a double take, then giggle, then think WTF?! Wow...How do you even answer that?
I just gave him a look
My day sucked. I had a long drawn out explanation all typed and accidentally hit the reload button. FML. This sums it up:
1) AF
2) IL's
3) No Card - except the "i feel guilty so I'll run to the family dollar and buy you a card" card after I showed him the one my mom got me....
4) Overtired toddler who wouldn't nap, and MIL undermining our attempts to get her to nap.
5) plans blown to sh!t and I had to cook lunch for everyone including BIL and his crazy girlfriend.
Mine started off with a poopy diaper explosion in DD's crib at 6:00am and a vomiting dog. And yes, I cleaned up both because my husband was apparently DYING with his sinus infection. The day didn't really get much better from there...DD was teething and literally just wanted to be rocked while she cried because she must have bit on a sore area of her gum. The dog...continued to vomit one or two more times...so I made her rice with some chicken broth to calm her tummy down.
When DD went down for a nap, DH and I watched a movie. That is when I finally got to relax a little...before I started cooking dinner. I had my grandmother and mother over for a mother's day dinner. Nothing fancy...just some chicken and steaks on the grill...but hubby doesn't cook (and he was DYING) so it was all on me.
It could have been a lot worse, but it wasn't the most relaxing mother's day either.

Could have been much worse! At least I wasn't taking anyone to the hospital!
And yes...I didn't complain as much when I was in LABOR as when DH had a stupid sinus infection!
