I started out making my own food but she wouldn't eat it. That was at around 6 months. So I bought a store bought can on a whim and she actually ate it. So after that I have been buying it instead of making it. She has no problem eating those foods. Well after reading about lead in store bought baby food I decided I would make my own. So I gave it another go and made tons. She refuses to eat any of it. But if I give her the store bought she will gobble it up. Why? Is there anything can I do? I use the exact same ingredients. I just don't get it.
Re: My 8 month old wont eat homemade food?
I had trouble with this too. It's difficult to match the consistency of store bought, especially with really textured fruits and veggies. I just kept practicing until I finally got it thin and smooth enough for him. I really don't mind using store bought for things that are harder to make myself. I do the easy ones myself like bananas, sweet potatoes, avacados, mangos, applesauce, etc.
He'll only be doing purees for a couple more months at most and then hopefully we can move on and I can be done with the blender.
