2 Cycles in One Month HELP!!!

Good Morning,

I have a quick question about my cycles and which cycle date I need to use.  I had my cycle April 18th, stopped birth control April 25th started April 30th for two days moderate bleeding.  Which cycle should I use to caculate when my next cycle is due?

Sorry I don't know the answer, but it may take you body up to a year to get a normal cycle.  Other ladies with more birth control experience might be able to chime in here.. but I would probably count the April 18th date and mark on my calendar (if you temp/chart) that you had bleeding on those other days....

  • As the previous post said it is most likely your hormones and getting off the pill. I would use the first date as the one to count from, get a good theometer and start charting your temps. I hope things work out well for you.

By 'had your cycle April 18th' do you mean you started your period, and if so, how many days did you bleed for? And, were you taking pills through the 18th to 25th, meaning you had your period before you finished your pack of pills? This is all very confusing and unclear, it's hard to give advice based on incomplete info.

  • What I'm reading is: you were on the pill (or other hormonal birth control) and had your usual "withdrawal" bleeding 4/18, presumably for maybe 5 or so days. You (maybe?) took a few days' worth of BCP until 4/25 and then you had some light bleeding 4/30-5/2. If that's correct, I'd just start CD1 at 4/30, but understand that stopping hormonal birth control (esp. mid-cycle) can cause lots of craziness to ensue- really short cycles, really long cycles, stretches of time with possibly no ovulation at all. My recommendation would be start temping now (check out Fertility Friend for good tutorials for the HOW and the WHY), and just sort of be prepared for anything. Your cycle could just fire right up (mine did), or could take 6mo-1yr to regulate (plenty of others' have done this). Temps will help you get a view into what's going on.

    Good luck!
