Dealing with PP body...

I'm having a hard time dealing with my new body. I still have at least 15 lbs to lose and a lot of flab to tone. I use to be pretty fit and skinny. Now I just feel fat. Nothing fits right.

I know it's vain, but I can't help how I'm I feel.  Is anyone else dealing with this?

Re: Dealing with PP body...

  • Yes, all of that, exactly, except I have 30 lbs to lose. And I'm only 5 ft 2, so that's a lot. I was very fit before I got pregnant...I was training for my second full marathon. Dealing with the extra flab and weight is really hard for me, too.

No advice...I'm just right there with you.

  • Yep. I had self-esteem issues before, and it's pretty bad some days.

  • Yes!  I've technically lost all the pounds I gained during pregnancy but my body is shaped completely different now!  I lost my butt and my boobs aren't any bigger but I have this gross flabby belly now.  I've been walking and plan to start running soon.  I also have Zumba and the Brazil Butt Lift DVDs I want to start if DD ever takes a long enough nap!
  • Same issue! I'm 7 weeks PP and while I'm down 20 lbs I still have 16 more to go to get to pre pregnancy weight. I've started running and lifting weights but I can't stand my flabby, tonedless belly! Ugh and my gigantic BFing boobs! Nothing fits right any more and while my husband says I look good I am definitely not in agreement!

  • I want to lose at least 15 lbs. I haven't bought new clothes in so long, and refuse to do so until I am at my goal. DH got me a double jogging stroller for Mothers Day, and I have been eating super clean. Don't get discouraged!

  • This is me also!!  Had DS 6 weeks ago.  I lost 35lbs no problem the first few weeks.  But I still have about 20 more to lose.  I have been watching what I eat and trying to walk the treadmill but I have hit a weight loss wall!  Very frustrating!!  And to make matters worse none of my prepregnancy clothes fit me.  I live in my yoga pants and a few athletic t-shirts that I can fit into.  I was tiny and fit prepregnancy.  Looks like I will have to break down and buy some clothes to fit me Crying

  • Ironically getting encouraged by all of you. I'm having the same issues - 15-20 lbs to drop, 2 months pp.. I started a workout regiment last week (2 days jogging, 2 days of 30-Day Shred DVD, and 1 day yoga) and am trying to eat better, though I'm STARVING and can't seem to cut much in quantity (though I'm trying to keep to salads and healthy sandwiches). I refuse to buy new clothes until I lose at least 10lbs, and have quickly learned that living in yoga pants does not help the self esteem. Hope to be at a different place in a month or two :-/  Good thing I have going for me is no lack of sleep, as my baby girl sleeps two 4-7 hours chunks at night.

DD2 is 2 months old, and I still have 9 lbs left to lose, but NOTHING fits. I feel like it too longer to lose the weight after DD1, but I gained a lot more. My body changed after DD1, but now I feel like it's completely wrecked.

I have to go to work tomorrow for a meeting (mat leave ends at the beginning of June).  I hate that I look this awful going back.

  • Same Boat! But I lost all my pregnancy weight but still have the flabby skin on my belly to tone. I have worn the Belly Bandit the last couple weeks and can honestly say my pre preggo pants aren't starting to look that bad. Friends told me they wore it the first couple months after baby was born, and they look great now. It is kind of pricey but anything works! Finding time to go to the gym to TONE is like impossible so I wear this all day and try to got for walks as well.
