Anyone else hanging in there?
I have never been a patient person, and let me tell you this is the biggest test of all! Each day seems like a week of waiting. Luckily, I have been feeling good, but mentally I'm becoming obsessive! I'm trying to wait, because I really want a natural birth, and I'm worried about petocin, and other interventions, but now I'm worried ill wait all this time and have to do that anyways, or she will be to big and I need a c-section.
This is my first baby, so I never accounted for the "guess date", in that she could come much later. I suppose I'm much more controlling then I once thought.
anyways, I have tried the following without any success, anyone have any other suggestions on how to get things moving? (Even if they don't work, they make me feel like in doing something to help!)
-positive thinking (I'm pretty sure it will be today)
-sex
-Acupuncture (2 sessions last week)
-chiropractor (I have been doing this the last month to help with alignment)
-raspberry leaf tea
-nipple stimulations
-birthing ball
-lots and lots of walking
-spicy food
-eating dates
anyhow, I'm still hanging in here, and was wondering who else is, and how your feeling. Congratulations to all the new mommys out there, and Happy Mother's Day to everyone!!!!!
Re: A week past duedate: frustrating
My OB won't let me go past 41 weeks because of the risks so maybe you can talk to her about possible induction at your next appointment. I know you want a natural birth but you can still have a great experience with an induction. I know many people who have!
Hang in there

This. I am being induced Monday at 41 weeks. I am was hoping for a med free birth, but it looks like I will at least have Pitocin. Still hoping to not need an Epi, but we will see. I will def refuse narcatics as they cross the placenta and I don't do well on them. The epi doesn't cross the placenta, so if I had to have pain meds that would be my choice.
I was 4 days late, and each day felt like an eternity. I feel your pain. I definitely have control issues, and those last four days were so mentally and emotionally trying for me. But now I sit here one-handed typing with a beautiful baby in my arms and I can tell you, the wait is so worth it. You won't be pregnant forever, even though I know it feels like that now. Will your doctor do a membrane sweep? I have heard that sometimes can give things a little kick start. Good luck. I hope it happens soon for you!

Just keep swimming.
The MW swept my membranes and I went to the hospital where the OB inserted the catheter. It definitely got things started. I ended up needing pitocin in the end, but the catheter certainly got things going.
Hoping for 4 days late like bananers. Lol
same here. My mom has been here 2 weeks already as well, and the friends and family calling and checking in is even more of a reminder she's not here!
thanks to everyone for their suggestions and great support!
