January 2013 Moms

Late night

Well holy crap. I was blessed with a week of 9 and 10 hr nights. Now we can't get passed 2 hrs . I want to cry. She's screaming her head off. She'll be 4m on the 18th. Naps during the day have been fine. But nighttime we fall apart .

I need sleep. Dreaming of zzzzzs

Re: Late night

  • DS has not gotten past the 2 hour stage yet...boo :(  it is only 9pm here but he is usually OUT by 8:30.  He has been fighting sleep for the last 2 days and has had tons of gas. I gave him gripe water about an hour ago but he spit that up.  So now we are trying his swing...

  • Your night sounds similar. We got to the hotel from the museum about 730. C fought it hard but finally passed out after I figured out it was gas and gave him some drops.
And then we decided to get ice cream. Error number one! We were able to go all the way to get ice cream and back. He was out but woke up as we got in about 10 and screamed so we fed and changed him. I had to pump and Mr tried soothing C. Yeah no. So 10 mins into the fit Mr lays him down beside me and stands in a corner with his phone texting or something. I tried to be encouraging but he refused to pick him up since "he only wants you" and "nothing I do helps so *** it". So that means I have to try to wrangle a screaming 15 lbs baby while being milked. Not cool.
I was hoping for some grown up times tonight, but by the time I had C calm and resting again about 1130 Mr tried to cuddle us and I ignored him. I get frustrated with a fussy or crying baby, but that was just uncool leaning toward Ahole. I just fed C two ounces at 330 and no pumping in sure I'll be up with him in a few hours. He's 14 weeks and in the last few days, I'm seeing a distinct shift in his eating and sleeping. Ugh.

  • 4 am here...DS has been sleeping through the night fairly consistently since about 5 1/2 weeks old. The past 2 nights he has woken up at 4am and 3am. Perfectly happy and ready to talk and play. He has a cold which is normal for him. But lately he coughs all day and I think it's what is waking him at night. I tried not to feed him since he goes 7pm6am usually without eating but tonight I am desperate to go back to sleep! He wasn't even crying for it though but he ate it. Now he is rocking in his swing. Hopefully he gets some sleep there!...I don't know how you ladies that have been having to wake up for the past 4 months do it?!?! Happy Mother's Day!
