Trouble TTC

Lap complete and thank you!

Well, I had my lap today and everything went really well. After 2.5 hours of surgery, they found and removed a lot around the uterus and Fallopian tubes. My doctor said the endo was pushing my tubes all the way to the wall causing them to be squished, which very likely could have an impact on our fertility struggle.

I'm feeling pretty good, just really sore from the gas pains. I think that's the worst part and I can't get rid of them!!

I posted a month or so ago asking for advice on if I should have the surgery. I have seen SEVERAL doctors with these symptoms and none recommended it, despite my infertility and other pain associated.I have learned to be an advocate for myself with this board and I truly appreciate this boards advice. You encouraged me to do the lap and I'm so glad that I did!

Hopefully this will be a step in the right direction with our fertility struggle.

  • I'm so glad it went well for you and that they were to clear out a lot of endo. Good luck trying once you are cleared to go again!

Glad everything went well! Take it easy the next few days and be good to yourself.

My advice is try to get up and walk every few hours, it will help with the bloating and gas pains.

  • I'm glad to hear the surgery was worth it! I am also unexplained and have always wondered about endo. My RE doesn't seem interested in testing since I have light periods and all testing looks fine. If you don't mind me asking, what were your symptoms?

GL, I hope this leads to a BFP!

  • RunningGirl- Sounds very similar to my situation. I have really painful periods, painful intercourse, and irritable stomach. My HSG and testing came back clear too, but turns out I had severe endo. It's unfortunate they can't tell for sure unless you do the surgery. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Glad it went well!  I had mine last week and walking around hurt but seemed to help with the gas pains.  They only lasted about a day or so...the main thing I dealt with after the first two days was the swelling.  I was excited today when I could finally wear jeans again!
