I'm sorry. I had to come somewhere and vent. I was so excited for LO 1st bday party tomorrow. Spent a ton of money, worked hard making decorations, planning everything. Making sure there was enough food, booze, music, things to do, etc etc. I was so happy to throw a party and get everyone together on a beautiful May Day before the summer. Well tomorrow is forecasted to be the worst day thus month. I'm heart broken. I know I shouldn't take it so hard, but we have a condo so no room in our house. The party is down at the pool house, which is only semi covered. Just going to be stormy and hot and awful and I don't even know how to deal with it. I had made the rain date Sunday, but my mom whined that it was Mother's Day so I shouldn't mess with people's plans.
Gosh I know this us so petty and small. There could be a million things worse than this. But I am just so upset. I needed to vent because no one else wants to hear it.
Re: First birthday rain out
We were at84 last Tuesday. Then Wednesday morning we were at 35 with snow.
I really hope it will turn out at least decent for your party time!
Ours is tomorrow as well, and since our weather has been hit or miss here so I just planned in everything being indoors. It'll be a tight squeeze in our house, but heck, we're family. We can sit close to each other lol.
Let us know how it goes!
We have the same thing
But we can't push back at all b/c we will be inducing next week. Any chance you live in Texas, or Houston more specifically?
That sucks. I hope things work out for you!
Our plan A is to have it at a park that has a covered pavilion. If its only drizzling we are ok but since its on the lake if its really stormy that won't work. It's actually the same place we had our wedding. I didn't book it this time so if someone is using the pavilion we can either share it or just wait until they leave.
Plan B is to have it in my tiny little townhouse. It will be cozy but I think we can manage. People just may have to sit on the floor lol.
We planned short and low key on purpose and its only family anyway so I can move it an hour that day if I need to or change locations at the last minute, I can.
Same thing here in NY. I checked with my guests and everyone was cool with me pushing it back to Mother's Day. I was suprised with some of my family who suggested it themselves. I had no alternative as I did it at a reserved park space and my backup was 35 people in a 1000 sqft apt.
I hope it worked out alright for you guys.
