Today was IUI #2.1. At my monitoring appointment on Wednesday, I had one mature follicle (22mm) on each follicle. DH is convinced that's a good sign because his guys will find something no matter which way they swim.
The resident that was doing my IUI had trouble getting thru my cervix and had to call in one of the main doctors. I had 4 people in the room helping with my IUI. Apparently I have a very difficult cervix...
Anyways, my question: As part of the protocol for the last IUI (2 months ago), our RE made a point of requesting a repeat morphology. Our results of the previous SA were normal, but just over the normal range. At the IUI, they told us the count and motility (90 million, 90%), but we never heard morphology results. Today, we heard the results were 2%, but the resident was very re-assuring that since our count was so high (107 million today with 83% motility) that we shouldn't worry about the morphology. Does that make sense? I'm a little wary of his advice since he was the one that couldn't get thru my cervix without help. Maybe he's good with knowledge but not the practical side...
I'd appreciate any thoughts. I probably won't see my RE until after the 3rd IUI unless I request a special appointment.
Re: IUI #2.1 Done. Question on morphology
Ya they never tell you the morph from just the wash at the time of the IUI. We always find that part out later also. Ours has only been 1% the last two times. While I don't think your morph number is completely irrelevant, I do agree that it hopefully wont be too big of an issue for you being that the other numbers are so good. It could be better, yes, but the wash should help separate the good simmers and sine you had so many to work with in the first place that bodes really well for the sample.
What did they say the actual insem number was? (The count post wash)
