I can't be the only one that gets such a huge kick out of my kid learning a new skill, right? Violet has just started using two-word phrases literally overnight. It's so awesome to see her doing something that she didn't do just a few days ago. Like, I got way too happy just now hearing her say, "Hi, bunny!" I know every kid is different...some of them have been using two word phrases for a while, and some are still barely talking. So tell me what it is that your kid is learning to do that you're excited about!
Re: Milestones are so cool!
Agreed! Milestones are awesome! My favorite is when Bo takes a good long nap, and then out of nowhere has learned a new word or skill.
This week:
- Bo said "bess you" to me when I sneezed!
- Walks up his slide ( takes a lot of hand-eye coordination, I was impressed)!
- Finds objects in his First Words book! It makes me laugh when I ask him where the lobster, tennis ball, and funky haired lion is, and lo and behold Bo finds them!
Carter has started speaking in short sentences and it amazes me!
"Hot coffee, Grandma"
"What is it, Mommy?"
Earlier today, while sharing a piece of coffee cake, he looked up at me and said "Mommy, I happy". It was the cutest thing!
And he is learning his colors and shapes really well! Things I don't even remember ever telling him. I'm almost positive that Mickey Mouse taught him what an octogan is...
Kaiden's latest trick is spinning balls on the hardwood floor. He loves it and its actually fun to watch

I love milestones. It always amazes me how fast they come on. Like Becca said, she'll sleep in or take a long nap and then within the next day it's like someone flipped a switch.
My favorite new thing she does is when I ask her what a penguin does she'll say "waddle waddle" while waddling.
She's also started doing little jokes. She'll put her blanky on her head and say "Where's this?" (this is what she calls blanky) or she'll put a banana on her head and say "hat!" and then laugh and laugh.
G is speaking in 2-3 word sentences and saying new stuff every day.
the other day when I dropped her off at my moms. We were walking to the door and saw the dog and she started saying "daisy! Daisy!" (The dog's name) she wasn't saying that the last time she was there, so she mimicked a word from pure memory. That was cool.
"What did my fingers do before they held you? What did my heart do with it's love?"
