I've got a question...

I've been lurking here for awhile since I've got an Oct 12 baby (born Oct 26!) but never posted because I was a late comer to the party and didn't feel like I fit in. Anyways, I've got a dilemma I was hoping to get some help with.

My LO was diagnosed with double ear infections on Tuesday. He started his antibiotics and is doing ok other than some severe congestion. Since Monday he's had some pretty icky diarrhea. Now obviously this isn't because of the antibiotics. The only new food he's been introduced to is yogurt. We started that maybe Wednesday of last week. He's not had an aversion to dairy so far, I BF in the beginning and now he is EFF. When we went to the pedi Tuesday I mentioned the diarrhea and she was not concerned, but honestly at this point I am. Is this something I should give them a call back about? Could it have anything to do with the double ear infection? My MIL seems to think it's his body clearing out the bacteria but I'm not convinced. Any input would be appreciated!

Antibiotics can cause diarrhea. Could also be another type of virus.

Is he teething? I know babies can get some pretty bad diarrhea and diaper rash from teething.

He is teething but this is different from his teething poop.

Thanks ladies! I hope he does too. We go Wednesday for his 6 month shots and follow up. I am dreading the visit because I hear those shots are the worst so far!
