We're famous! (Sort of ... )

So, I know there's at least one other Minnesotan in here, but for anyone who doesn't know Minnesota could have marriage equality this year and we will find out on Monday!  The House of Reps voted yesterday (AND PASSED!!!!) but Wednesday, my work (local news) wanted to do a story on someone who will be directly affected by it ... and maybe has a time frame ... hmmmm, maybe a baby due right after it would go into effect if it is passed?  So they asked me if we would be interviewed.  I hate being on camera, but this is something I am passionate about, and especially this year (we would be able to get married RIGHT before the baby is born) so I said of course!  I just wanted to share it with you guys since I don't think I sounded too horrible (my partner is the quiet one ... probably why I post and she just reads).  Big Smile

    IVF October 2012: 22 eggs retrieved, 17 fertilized, 5 frozen
    ET #1: 1 blast = BFP; Blighted ovum discovered at 7w5d; D&E
    FET #1: 1 blast = BFP; Missed m/c discovered at 9w5d; D&E
    Karyotyping: normal ~ RPL Testing: normal ~ Hysteroscopy: normal
    FET #2: 1 blast transferred 10/25; BFP 10/31!
    EDD 7/13/14 ~ Induced at 37w4d due to pre-eclampsia ~ Born on 6/28/14

    Lil'mamaz was born on Aug 21, 2014! She's PERFECT!

    It's been a long road to here...
    Me (43) and J (45) - same sex couple. And we don't feel 40+!
    June'12 - First RE Visit
    Sept. '12 - Tubes removed
    Dec. '12 - Donor Egg/Donor Sperm IVF Cycle - 4 good embies!
    Dec. '12 - Fresh transfer, BFP! EDD 8/29/13
    Mar. '13 - Missed m/c at 16w1d, baby boy stopped growing at 15w4d
    Loss due to umbilical cord clot...baby was perfect. :(
    Jul '13 - FET#1 - c/p
    Sept. '13 - FET#2 - BFN
    Dec.' 2, 2013 - FET#3 with our last chance embie - BFP!!!
    Dec' 26, 2013 - hb!!
    EDD 8/20/14 with a baby girl!
    Little S was born on 8/21/14 - 8lb, 14 oz and 20 inches long.
    We live in Seattle and used SRM for our donor egg IVF cycle

    Thanks everyone!  Maryanne, I hope they would paint a good picture ... the guy who interviewed me was my old roommate!  Haha.  I also work for the station (most of the reason they did they story, easy, timely, and interesting).

     

    It is expected to pass, but I don't want to count on anything ... but we are thinking about logistics and timing.  =)

    I grew up in Minnesota and we plan on moving back up there in a few years... So we also have been following this closely! Woohoo... Yay for Minnesota. That is awesome that you guy get to be involved in some of the media coverage.

    Great story!

     We did media (news and radio) when our marriage equality law went into effect and even though it's not something we'd normally do, it felt like the right thing and I'm glad we did!
