Water table mat?

We are getting my little guy a water table for his first birthday. We are in an apartment on the second floor and plan on putting it outside on the covered, screened in porch. But it's concrete and I want something under it so if he falls or is kneeling he won't tear up his legs. Obviously it has to be able to get pretty wet too and not mildewy. Haha a lot of demands I know. Anyone have any suggestions?

I was going to suggest foam squares as well. We found ours on amazon.com, so there is another option.

Haha we actually have these same foam squares from one step ahead (the solid color ones) inside our place in his play area. I didn't even think of those because I assumed they wouldn't do well getting wet so much. You don't think they will get mildewy? I feel like the water would just be soaked up in the mat and get gross. Has anyone used these outside?
